I hope that you and others will get out of it, what you're willing to put into it. Not to sound cliche.
What makes PVC different is the group of writers attached to the main site: www.provideocoalition.com.
The idea behind PVC is that it is a collection of blogs from some of the best writers in the industry. For the community site here, we hope to have the community write their own reviews, case studies, challenges, etc.
We plan to link to those from PVC and we're always on the lookout for writers.
There are a ton of video sites out there. In fact I've managed several of the best, DV (back in the glory days), StudioDaily and Film & Video. Launching PVC was a combined effort with hand-picked writers to make a site we've always wanted.
Ultimately (here comes that cliche part again...) the more the community shares, writes, etc, the better this will be. Being the new kid on the block can be difficult when readers have their site habits, or the forums they frequent.
As far as benefits? We're working on some things now, but it's a tad early to share....
